Make me want to study at Brisbane at the future instead of living in this unstable country . Bad politic , bad people communication and Unfair goverment . I like Brisbane evironment and the well done goverment . Any universtiy or college there ?
How I wish Penang would be like that someday. The photos really look super friendly to bikers. Great photos taken there too Diana. How's your bike coming along? Joining us this Sunday?
Bit drastic eh, look368? Think of all the MYR2.50 Hokkian Mee and Char Kueh Teow that you'll be missing out on if you move to Brisbane!
But seriously, you do feel alot safer riding on dedicated bike lanes and when the community is very aware and supportive of cyclists. Many a time, I have stopped at a pedestrian crossing (some without traffic lights) and cars actually stop to let me cross. (Maybe I look like a foreigner or maybe it's the clothes I wear! Hahaha!)
Make me want to move to Brisbane instead of wasting time here fighting with all these ineffectual bureaucratic even for basic things such as bicycle signs (and thst is also hv to beg from corporate sponsorship) not to mention bicycle lanes. Hats off to the Aussies, they hv the political will and also the financial means to do it. In Brisbane airport, I was amazed that they hv cut down water consumption by almost 75% over the last few yrs. They are using waterless urinal in the man's toilet as part ot the conservatory efforts.
I am sorry to tell you that I did not know at all till now that both of you have been a great riders in Australia as well . The attached several phototes reminds me of our riding to Brisbane in 2008 with my wife and riding friends. South Bank, Several huge bridges which are all well constructed and very nice to see and crossover. I do hope I will be able to visit these areas again in Aril or May. See you on G-club Sunday ride.
George Town, Penang Attention everyone!! All roads leading to Esplanade will be closed from 8am to 7pm this Sat & Sun for Go Penang International. (1) Road block will be set up at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah's City Bayview Hotel / Honda junction. No vehicle beyond that junction (2) Total road closure for Lebuh Light, Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah and Jalan Padang Kota Lama. Sorry for the inconvenient.
I just get it from Facebook on George town, penang. feel free to become a fan and get updates.
Wow , this time the teluk bahang g-club ride should be a big number , a gang . from the 2nd teluk bahang gclub ride 10 people to now at least 30++ people . a great number improve ! Hope more will join future coming teluk bahang ride .
if can't make it to this year's PCC IS don't be sad, still have Century Ride in July. better let your wrist fully recover first. the pounding from the stiff road ride can be really hard on the wrists.
After four days of cycling, the pain comes back again. Yeah I know I should have rested longer for full recovery. But thanks to my "itchiness", I could not wait that long to go back to saddle again.
Look like not only I have to rest longer but also have to re-think about my participation in IS2010, the PCC event that I have so looked forward to! *sigh*
during the G Club meeting last night, the SAFETY RIDE CAMPAIGN were discussed at length among all the 16 members. We will be organizing a 1 day event to create safety awareness among the road users.
it was also agreed that the safety awareness should start IMMEDIATELY via G Club organised rides.
as such, all perticipants for the upcoming G Club Bahang Ride, followed by all future G Club rides, you are required to wear a helmet when riding with us. if you do not have 1, please get one.
you will be stopped from riding together with us if you are not wearing one. hope all will cooperate and follow this simple safety rule and set a 'standard' for all other groups to follow.

Hi Wusolow; A highly recommended book by Khoo Swee Choo on cycling From Singapore to Beijing. He is our Daniel's cousin quite an intrepid explorer and i got an autograph copy coutesy from Mr Khoo. I picked it up one fine afternoon and start reading for a few minutes on his cycling adventure. What supposed to be a short 5 minutes review ended reading it right thru the early hours of the morning. He described his journey from Singapore day by day and the experiences he encountered right up to the moment he met up with his uncles and rlatives in his father's ancestor home in Yong Chun , Fukian province and I can imagine the face of his relatives to see him on bicycle all the way from Singapore.
Fantastic account of his journey. I was so stirred tha I thought one day will do it.
Anyway you did a fantastic journey solo all the way to the land ot the lion. Hope you could share your experience so that so we plan to do it we know what to prepare.
