Tough ride! At last downhill section, my real tyre punture (Aiyah...). so, i decided to walk & run with my bike abt 500m to finish point. Not easy laa... After d ride, my whole bike "koyak" already. So, i think some part need to replace (RED in color!!!). Medal is nothing, complete d ride is important. Overall, everyone enjoy it.
Congrats on your superb performance in your first Jamboree. What fun ( and mud ) I missed ... hehehe.... Well, all the good excuses to upgrade your bike now! So next Jamboree will be KWT ???
Thanks for your encouragement. I've not decided yet to go or not.... might go back Ipoh for Christmas. You might want to consider registering under one of the bike shops...they can help you get the goodies. Other than FooSan, any other G Club members going ?

Dear Chia,
Luckily my rear tyre still got a little bit of air when I reach the finish line. If not, susah lor...When I reached home, I spend the whole afternoon fixing the tyre and rear brakes. Hopefully this morning, I will try to fix my rear gear..
So you manage to go Ayer itam dam ride this morning? i replace my tyre tube this morning but unfortune that i can't "rescue" back my muddy G club jersey. sad.

Dear Chia,
I did not go to AID this morning because the gear on the back got some problem. I also facing the same problem with my G-club jersey. The back of the jersey got a lot yellow stains lar. My wife told me "Your MTB jersey should have muddy stain ma, the more stains on your jersey, show that you are a hardcore offroad MTB kaki". Walau ee, kena peri lagi....
At first we thought it was an easy ride, going through the padi fields and came across some rocky trails. Then when we finish the 4th check point, there is when the challenge comes. I asked, so where to next? The guy said... up there! Up the stairs??
So we went up the stairs, up the hill (pushing all the way as it was so muddy), carry our bikes across rivers. This is the time when you appreciate your bike being light. Hmm I think we did almost everything today.

After this Jamboree, now I understand what is mean by "Impossible to ride" (about 2km long). It's more like carrying a MTB to explore the jungle trekking. There are total of 4 bridge to cross the river. We have to carry our MTB while crossing the river. According to captain, some rider's bike fall into the river...
After the Jamboree, our lovely and shining bike looks like going into dirt bike race. We have to wash ourselves together with the bikes. At least I know what to expect in the offroad race. This is the best experience I gained.
At the end of the day, I falled down once... too slipery to ride...a back tyre punture, real disc break broken, rear level shifter broken... what a experience, I will never forgot... I guess this is why I need to get a good & reliable MTB bike...
So fast the pics are up, amazing. The skinny wooden bridge looks cool and dangerous. Organizer shud provide water hoses to wash bikes instead of washing in the river. But you fellows look happy cleaning in the river. Congrats Chia, you must be one tough rider conquering those mud and rivers.

The last check point trail is so challenging, we have carry our bike to climb up the steps. I thought that after the step will be the finish line but it's just the begining to push the bike and carry the bike across the stream. Overall, the trail tough, everybody managed to finish it.
the convoy from Pg : myself, sifu, chee hoe, teh, stingray, chia, kenny, lee (senior & junior), foo san
left McD after early b'fast and reached destination 1 hour ahead of starting time.
the condition was "horrible". the rain didn't stop at all. we only get tarmac n muddy trail. nothing in between !!!
i do not know where they took us but i guess it was somewhere around the area.
the last part was the most punishing and real test. we had to carry our bike up the steps, push up slopes, push down slopes !! (too slippery to ride), carry bike across 3 to 4 rivers (lost count, too tired !!) and ended up back to where we started.
only chia managed to get a medal when he managed to return back among the early group, Congrats !! yr 1st mtb jamboree and you won something.
casualties ??? sure. 1 fella (cannot tell name) tried to avoid GU SAI and ended up lying on the road. then he blamed the front tire not having enough air !! cute..... blame it on tire, not GU SAI !!! others also landed on muds and what not. the road condition was not ideal but that's mtb !!!
overall, we had a lot of fun and a lot of food in SP on our way back !!

At least we learn something, =Don't wear white jersey during jamboree= haha...

Great adventure!
When I start carry my bike on the stairs, I could not imagine what's captain thinking about...hahaha ..must be
Captain: "stingray will cursing like hell when he see the stairs..man.." hahaha..
Captain: "I told him to get a new bike, he's don't listen, now he will know the consequence" hahaha.
Celaka, my bike is weight about 14.5kg....so damn heavy...
May be this is one of the reason, I told my wife that I need a new bike...hihi
Everybody is enjoyed, Ray
Any takers for the above ride. thought of going only for the 1st january ride across Penang bridge and then round island ride.
Must be great fun. I like the picture of the wooden bridge, must be quite scary ? You chaps are washing or actually fell into the stream ?

how do you guys get the muddy Ride-with-CM jerseys clean again? won't the 'white parts' turn into 'brown parts'?
i do not know about others, i leave it to my wife to figure out how to get rid of the mud & dirts.
glad to say, most of the time she did a good job with some nagging thrown in !! (expected la)
I SMS-ed Captain to see how it went. He told me one word, fun! From what I see on the pictures, I couldn't agree more!
Glad to see you guys had fun!
