The sky was overcast and a little drizzle. A nice weather for road ride. I was a litle late since it was so nice to sleep. I saw a bunch of riders in front of McDonald's Gurney. My first was "wow!". We took it easy and chatted all the way to Pantai Aceh. We also stopped at Teluk Bahang for breakfast.
We continued after our breakfast. Susumu-san reached the peak of Jalan Teluk Bahang first.
Then, niterider...:)
And of course, the Dane family too! *ahem*
On our return leg, niterider decided to go round island. Susumu-san decided to follow me to go back to where we started. We finished the ride at around 2pm, almost six hours later.

If we allow everyone to key in and update the events, we will run out of control soon.
Originally the event column was meant strictly for gclub events, however later the committee decided that it should be opened to allow the events of other clubs and associations to be listed. But I raised this issue of reciprocal listing, meaning if KOTRT's events are listed here its only fair that in their website should have an external link to Gclub. That's all we are asking and reciprocal listing is customary in the web dealings.

As for individuals who want to list events only special users can do this. At this point only the committee members and turbosnail are special users. But this is only a small privileage given to users who want to do a bit more than normal login users (members). So if you want to be a spcial user all you have to do is to send gclub@gclub.com.my a mail. No big deal. Like I said before "the more the merrier ! "

Especially the Dane.... Round island was not very tough but quite tiring for my legs. I reached around 5pm as I stopped to have lunch with my wife and in-laws in Georgetown. Have to do more of the round island. Interesting ride with a lot of spectacular scenery over in Pulau Betong area and Balik Pulau.

I'm fine provide that I can reach back to tanjung tokong before noon. From the google map, seberang perai ferry to kuala muda is only about 20km.
For the Malakof ride, I think one of the condition is that you need a racing bike. May be I'm wrong. better check with the organiser.

As for the Malakoff ride, I spoke to Mr Mohd Azmi from the organising committee today. He confirmed that using MTB with slick tyres is not an issue.

In fact I just did the proposed trip this afternoon. Woke up late this morning. Left house at 11.00am, had breakfast and reach jetty by noon. Lunch at Teluk Air Tawar. Left Tlk Air Tawar around 1.30pm. Did Kuala Muda. Then proceed to Kota Kuala Muda where the old fort is before returning home. Since you have to return home early, we'll skip Pantai Merdeka.

i'm ok with the early timing, and go on public holiday 'hari raya haji' itself wont' the ferry services be very full of people if we come back at peak timing? by the way how much is ferry for cyclist and the bicycle? do we have to buy return tickets on the spot, or buy when need to travel back?
