nice to cycling with all G Club members and SGA Group members. I had a wonderful time and challenging moment riding side by side with Captian because he is fast!
Wud you wan to grade this trail taking into reference those we hv listed. With Kenny nearly ended in the ravine, wud be interesting to know its level of difficulty.

after discussing with Sifu, we would rate the above trail as "3" .... it is really not that difficult.
we both also agreed we should not ask Kenny, he rated the trail as 4 or 5... but trust me, if he had tipped over yesterday, he would rate it at 10 !!!!
It's not because I crash I rate it 4 la (I benchmark it with 1200 steps having a 3 rating), I feel the trail needs more technical skills than 1200 steps as the trail up 1200 steps is much wider and chances of falling off the ravine is less. 1200 steps is more on how good is your stamina cycling uphill, Gertak Sanggul you will need more technical skills and balancing as I see many struggling during the ride and if riders are not careful the consequences are severe.
If I am not mistaken there are also a few more riders who crash their bike during the ride. One of them did fell into the ravine, luckily he is ok.
Just my 2 cents.. or 1 cents..
Captain,
If I had tipped over, maybe no chance to give any ratings..
You are right, I will rate is a 10 for the best off road trail so far in Penang I have been. Lets do it again!!

I could not agree more with Kenny. Personally, I think gertak sanggul ride is a trail ride and 1200 steps ride is an on-road ride because accessible for car. The 1200 steps is more like riding a tar road to 84 or 168. Comparing with other rides, I wound rate gertak sanggul 4.0, where 1200 steps 3 & round island 3. If you love trail ride, you will definately love gertak sanggul ride....
It would be great that on every ride, there will be an online poll to rate the ride... then after collecting all the data for the whole year rides, we can tabulate it and list them such as the most favourite ride, challenging ride etc...
I would rate the trail to be 4 out of 5 for the level of difficulty especially for the downhill part at the banana plantation. It was a steep downhill and I cashed by bike, having myself thrown and luckily for me, I manage to catch hold of a small tree as I was slidding away into the ravine. A close call for me. Lesson learn, no more pandai pandai sudden stopping for pictures..
I enjoyed the ride, the scenery is superb. Take a slow ride and you will enhjoy the fresh air and the nature surroundings. Thumbs up!!
Hi Danial,
Thanks for your concern. I am ok, with a few scratches on my left leg. Luckily no bruises on my body or any internal injuries.
