Teluk Bahang

Teluk Bahang or the locals call it 'end of the world' is located about 17km from Gurney Drive G-Hotel.  It's located north western side of Penang, an old fishing village with some famous seafood restaurants. Also in the vicinity is the Butterfly Farm, the entrance to Penang National Park and the dam.

Certain sections before Batu Feringgi can be widing and hilly.  The roads around this section is quite narrow and for your own safety you are advised to cycle a single file.

This is a popular trail.  On weekends you can see many cyclists using this route, some enroute to Balik Pulau and the Round Island and some just stopping at Teluk Bahang, have a cuppa and turn back.

If you are cycling from Georgetown, you will first pass Tanjong Tokong area, then Tanjung Bungah and finally Batu Ferringgi before reaching Teluk Bahang.  Hard Rock, Rasa Sayang and ParkRoyal are all located around the busy tourist area of Batu Feringgi.  If you are a newbie, Teluk Bahang is a highly recommeded ride, a good start before you try G Club's other trails..

Please wear a helmet and turn on your back lights even during the day, if you can.  At Teluk Bahang there are Chinese coffee shops, a 24 hour Malay Indian foodshop and a petrol kiosk.

This G Club organised once-a-month ride will flag off 7.30am from G-Hotel, Gurney drive, Georgetown.  Your ride will be escorted and will stop over at the coffee shops in Teluk Bahang before going up to the dam for a group photo.  Thereafter from the dam most riders would head back, escorted, but some may continue the journey to Fruit Farm or to Balik Pulau or Round the Island.

G Club members and friends of G Club (most are experienced riders) may not be responsible for any accidents that may bring bodily harm or material loss to you during this ride, but they will do their level best to make this ride a memorable and enjoyable one for you.  So bring your bike, helmet, some water and have GREAT FUN !!  The more the merrier !

from previous rides,

the ride starts at G hotel, usually middle of journey will make a quick stop opposite rasa sayang hotel to regroup before proceeding to tlk bahang for breakfast. then another few km ride to tlk bahang dam for photo session and speech from our chairman.  after that most riders will ride back to G hotel.  total distance 30+ km only.
