Alan, are we still on? The distances look daunting. Shall we arrange for a trial of the kuala kangsar to Banding ride one of this Weekend. Lookin at the topography of the terrain. The second day from Banding to Kota Bahru is the killer. We hv to ascend from about 200 to almost 1100 feet. Wonder how steep is the gradient and it seems to stretch for quite a lot of kilometres. I supposed by mid morning on 2nd day it will be home run, flat ground all the way to KB and Kenyir

If you guys are on, I'm still very keen on this.  Let me know ok??

Updated the details to event page.  The deadline is 30 March 2010.  But do act quick since there are limited space.

Please take note that the new fax number to fax in your bank slip and registration number will be +603 9221 1899.  I will update this to event page.  Thanks.

I just received the newsletter from PCC, and they would announce the details of IS2010 in their next newsletter issue.  I will update the details to the main page once I have it!

My wrist is still recovering and in no condition to ride as of moment.

Dun need to try lah.  By doing so will sure take away some fun of riding someplace new to yourself...:)

But if I start to go for century ride training I'll let you know.

This route will take us thru the east coast highway to  Terengganu and kota baru. It will cut thru the Titiwangsa Range towards Baling and Tasik BAnding. It is an ardous climb but I believe quite gentle (yr elevation chart showed quite a steep climb and to a 1000 metre) and very scenic in certain part.  I wud suggest if it is really confirm, we shud drive to each section and prepare for the climb and familiarise with the route. After Tasik Kenyir how to come back , Ride back aah or got truck to tumpang back???

Just received a request from my contact to update my details.  It also means PCC will announce the event pretty soon.  The route is said to be Kuala Kangsar - Pulau Banding - Kota Baru - Tasik Kenyir instead of Kuala Kangsar - Pulau Banding - Tanah Merah - Tasik Kenyir as easrly posted.  Distance is said to be 500km as opposed to 420km as early estimated.

The updated route will be as follow:

Day 1 Kuala Kangsar to Tasik Banding (145km approx)

Day 2 Tasik Banding to Kota Baru (180km approx)

Day 3 Kota Baru to Tasik Kenyir (175km approx) - could be the same route as LTDL 2010 First day race route.

Bus ride needs to be paid separately for those who require a bus ride to go back to starting point.  For those who are concerned about scratches to their bikes when travelling with bus, packaging material would be provided since in the last IS2009, it was provided.

I will continue to update from time to time.

Definitely need support vehicle.  Currently I am scratching my head on how to arrange a support vehicle. I am also planning to have my wife to meet me at Tasik Kenyir.  But all these were still a plan, and we have not really sit down to come how it should go.

I believe Adren will be coming back on his monthly home leave soon.  We will need to plan and decide how it should go.

I have already pre-registered and so did Adren.

P.S:  Need more time for full recovery.  *sigh*

Lets go try out one the toughest range from Kuala Kangsar to Tasik BAnding when your wrist recover i.e after CNY. A go at the at route will be good to let us gauge our ablility and the amount of practice we need for next 2 months and also to try out our drafting techniques. My fren has expressed interest to be the support driver. Will get him to come along during our trial ride

Hi, last time we use lorry to carry our stuff n on last day can share bus back to starting point.

That might be one solution to pool resources and pay for a support truck. Can dump all yr drinks, energy bar, tools in the trcuk

Doc:

We are going to talk about it tonight.  I will bring my friend, Adren to Ananda cafe opposite to the Sandy Bay at around 10.30pm.  Lets discuss how it is done.

SteveBaron,

You are welcome to join in for the discussion too if you were in Penang tonight.  We are trying to gather riders to go together.

It's RM350.00 per head.  Bus ride will be provided for riders to go back to starting point to collect their cars after the ride ends at Tasik Kenyir.

PCC should make announcement anytime soon!

Sound interesting.....must prepare and repair...
