1st G Club off road NIGHT RIDE - 22/1/10

Captain - Posted on 23 January 2010

Wah Lau... my hats off to you guys man... tabik!!!  night ride on the road already looks challenging.  Night ride off-road looks "Ball Shrinking"!  Congratulations for surviving the night ride!

Few other venues have been identified and I am thinking of nite road ride as well.  Too bad I am still trying to recover from my wrist injury, or I would start recceing now!

Saw your roadie at Gary's today undergoing overhaul.  Get well soon and hope you're back soon!

only 5 riders, myself, Kenny, Chia, Andreas and new comer Kit turn up for the ride.

it was a smooth ride all the way to the top of Bkt Gambier minus the 'dog chasing' as well as cow dangs (as mentioned by Richard) who warned us to look out for !!

proper lighting helped and Andreas seems to be having the brightest head light amongst us all.

it was really fun and cooling to be riding at night in the middle of the jungle and i shall work with Turbo to 'attack' some other trails.

a short meeting was held after the ride at New Delima coffee shop for the upcoming workshop on 7/2/10 which was attened by Sifu, Turbo, Stingray and "Ah Song"...

a real fun outing and shall leave it to others to relate their side of experience.

Night mt biking is really a new experience for me. Proper lighting is very necessary and sticking together is a must. We will never know when will our lights suddenly decided to give up on you, as happened to one of our riders during the ride.. hehehe

It was fun and with a good bright front light, the risk is minimal. Enyoyed it to the fullest and the view at the top is just breath taking in the night..

Will definately go again.

Should CAMPAIGN FOR A LANE - COME RIDE WITH THE CM; 2nd EDITION (2010) be continued this year in September or October, 2010 ?

We have received news from the state exco that there are too many bicycling events and some of it should be combined (in other words cancelled). To me this is a silly notion. The more cycling events there are in the state, the more awareness there will be and it should augur well for the cycling community.
