had a discussion with Doc this morning and decided following for those living around Tg Bungah area. we will be meeting up in front of Sifu's house tomorrow morning @ 6.15am before heading to Balik Pulau / P. Betong kopitiam.

We be driving there.

For those who would like to join the convoy, please meet us at the above place / time.

See ya.

May I know the cycling path before the ride?

Good ride this morning.

Hi Bond, you ARE Bond, aren't you, with that 007 number tagged behind your name.  Haha!

Thanks SP.  It was some great pics you took.  Never imagine the scenery was so nice despite my riding these trails regularly.  Sorry that we didn't get a chance to introduce ourselves and yak yak because I was simply overwhelmed by the turnout.  What a big group.  And the weather was kind to us too.

Great people, great ride.

See you!

Hi Baby Husky,

Thanks for praising and riding together!

Will see you in next event.

Something has came up. Most probably I couldn't join next week. But I will join Bahang ride tomorrow morning.

Hi,

This is my first time joining Gclub after getting a bike about a month....hope I can be there..21st march seems to be free for me..

Tg Bungah

Hi Zul, the 21st Rotary Fellowship ride will be idea for u since you jus got yr bike for a mth. it is an easy to moderate ride very suitable for initiation into bicycling. The problem is u need to drive with yr bike at the back seat or better still go fix a bike carrier which i think is worthwhile since most nice trail are a distance away. We will pulau betong as we are all gathering there to start off at 730 am.

Hi Look368,

I never been to P. Betong. Thats why i wanna go..haha.. maybe someone can post the GPS coordinate later on for the location to start off. I live in tg bungah. Bike in a car..thats normal..My ODO is 100 + km..so now i want to try to join others since i have been ride solo most of the time to build some staminas..hahah

For the benefit of those who have not been to Pulau Betung, I have updated the event page with the coordinates of that coffee shop.

Hi Zul,

Please note that the 21st March ride is from Pulau Betong, Balik Pulau.  It's an easy off road trail ride and you need to be on an mtb or hardtail.  Ride starts at 7.30 am.

Don't want you to be confused with the 14th March G Club ride which starts from Gurney to Teluk Bahang.

See you on 21st March then.

Happy Cycling!

Hi Baby Husky,

Its OK. I'm clear with that. I'm on MTB.

Seeya.

Zul

This will be an interesting ride both for those who jus started riding and also for the more seasoned riders. Tony will lead us as he is the Tai ko of Balik Pulau. The last time he took us was quite an experience and robert and i  encountered crab crawling along the trail. We will drive with our bikes in the car for those from Tg Bungah and dont feel like riding all the way there. Once we are at the Pulau Betong village, it is jus a short ride before the trail starts. There is hardly any motorised vehicles except for the odd motorbikes and overall a very safe trail. Don forget to bring along yr camera as there are lots of scenic places.

I am not sure where is the location of Pulau Betong Kopitiam, the meeting place. Can I have the details to enable me to find the location in the early morning?

It is located at the end of the road at Pulau Betong Village and there is a small slip no through road from there that leads to the Biro Tata Negara. You can click on the Trails icon on the top right hand corner and look for Pulau Betong - Pantai Acheh trails and click on the map icon for the map. Perhaps turbosnail can help wi the GPS location. Otherwise keep a regular on this page. As the event draws nearer we will update everyone and maybe we will meet at a common place like Island Plaza before we go off as a convoy. You will need to load yr bike in yr car because we are planning to drive there and start off with the trail right immediately as we are expecting a lot of riders who may not be so confident to weave around with the road traffic.
